On 8 October 1744, John Croxton Junr witnessed a deed from Martin Nalle of the County of Orange and Parish of St Marks to Thomas Burke of the County of Essex and paris [sic] of Southfarnham. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 23, pages 215–216.]
John Croxton was mentioned in the 22 October 1750 will (proved in 1757) of his father John Croxton. At that time, the younger John had had no children. He was to receive the land that his father purchased of James Farguson and was also named an executor. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 11, pages 40–41.]
On 29 November 1755, John Croxton jur. witnessed a deed from Hezekiah Brown and Salley his wife of the County of Essex and Parish of Southfarnham to Samuel Croxton of the same. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 27, pages 201-202.]
On 4 December 1755, John Croxton Junr. cast votes for Colonel William Daingerfield and Colonel Francis Smith for burgesses of Essex County. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 27, pages 248–252.]
On 18 October 1757, Johanna Croxton, John Croxton, Ambrose Wright, Thomas Croxton and Samuel Croxton were bound £500 current money for Johanna Croxton’s and John Croxton’s execution of the last will and testament of John Croxton. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 11, page 42.]
On 22 April 1769, John Croxton witnessed the will of John Farguson. He signed his name John Croxton. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 12, pages 82–83.]

On 17 June 1771, a division of the remaining estate of John Croxton deceased was recorded. The will of John Croxton was dated 31 July 1775. Land to eldest son Carter Croxton. Other two sons John and Aris Croxton £40 from Carter when they come of age.
