On 10 March 1702, Wm Allen witnessed a deed from Henry Boughan of Essex County to John Amis of Gloucester County. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 10, page 136.]
On 10 May 1707, Thomas Gregson of Sittenbourn in Essex County gentleman sold to Erasmus Allen and William Allen of Southfarnham Parish planters. For 3,700 pounds good sweet scented tobacco, 200 acres or more less in Essex County, part of a dividend of 900 acres granted 20 April 1684 to James Boughan and John Boughan and by James Boughan sold to George Sudkett and George Reed on 13 February 1685, etc. Signed Tho: Gregson. William Allen was mentioned in the 1717 will of his mother-in-law Rachel Waggoner. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 3, pages 39–41.]
On 26 January 1719, William Allen witnessed the will of his brother Erasmus Allen, and proved the will in court on 16 August 1720. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 3, page 196.]
William Allen was mentioned in the 20 September 1720 will of Joseph Baker. He was to receive and mark all the tobacco to be shipped to England as a legacy to Joseph’s sisters there. The will was proved on 15 November 1720. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 3, pages 220–223.]
On 16 September 1729, Christina Wagoner, William Allen and Benja Wagoner bound £500 sterling for Christina Wagoner’s execution of the last will and testament of Samuel Wagoner. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 4, pages 313–314.]
On 19 May 1730, Wm Allen, Benja Waggener, Thos Davis and Erasmus Allen were bound £300 current money for William Allen’s and Benjamin Waggener’s administration of the goods, chattles and credits of Christina Waggener deceased. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 4, page 356.]

On 6 October 1737, William Allen served on a jury in a suit between Henry Reeves and Joseph Reeves. During the suit he provided a deposition in which he stated that his age was fifty-nine or sixty years. The deposition itself is not dated but is probably from 1737: “The Dipon of William Allen aged about fifty nine or Sixty being first Sworn before Alexander Parker gent Saith That he Knew Henry Reeves the ffather of Henry Reeves the plt who lived on the North side of a Creek called Tigners Creek and that at that time (which was about forty odd years Agoe) he heard ye sd Henry Reeves the father of the plt and his Sons say at Several Times that Over to the South side of the said Tigners Creek was over the bever dams and that he the sd Allen hath seen a bever Dam on the north branch of ye sd Creek above forty years Agoe which said north branch is ye main Branch and was always so Reputed the said Allen further saith that Henry Reeves Grandfather to the plt Henry Lived in a house on the North side of the sd Tigners Creek near the mouth of the sd Creek on the bank of the River and that there was an other Scituation or house where one Henry Williams Lived as a Tenent to the wido of the said Henry Reeves Grandfather to the plt and farther he Saith not [signed] Wm: Allen [Essex County, Virginia, Land Trials 1715–1741, pages 123–124 and 131–132.]
