The wife of William Edmondson was mentioned but not named in his will, dated 4 January 1774. She was to receive his estate during her lifetime, and was named executrix, along with executors William Roane, John Rennolds and John Edmondson Junr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 12, pages 582–583.]
The will of Leah Edmondson of Southfarnham Parish and County of Essex was dated 14 March 1779. To brother Andrew Allen £24. To Andrew and to nephew Richard Allen 3 hogsheads tobacco. To neice Ann Allen six silver table spoons “that Thomas Edmondson at Winchester had Silver to get made”. “Item I give & bequeath to Josiah Minter Son of Richard Allen [sic]” £25 when he arrives at the age of 21. Executors: Brothers Andrew and Richard Allen. Signed Leah her X mark Edmondson. Witnesses: Benja Waggener, Mary her X mark Waggener. Proved 18 September 1780.
