That Anthony North devised, leased and by these presents release to John Wagoner a certain Tract on the north side of Rappa in the Parish of South [sic] Farnham bordering the land of Richard White and the Kings high Road. John Waggoner was mentioned in the 21 February 1697 will of his son, John Waggoner, proved on 10 May 1697. “Item I give unto my loveing father my Coopers Tooles a Saddle and two Bridles & If my Brother James Wagganner doe not returne the horse which he left me.” John (the father) was also to serve as executor. On 19 August 1707, an inventory of the good and chattles of James Reeves was taken in Essex County, Virginia in obedience of a court order of 11 August 1707. The appraisers were Robert Mills, William Grinall, and John Waggoner. Total valuation 112-14-11, plus an additional 11-13-2. “Presented by Henry Reeves, Joseph Reeves and Thomas Munday & Mary his wife late Mary Reeves Admrs of the Estate of James Reeves…” [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 13, pages 33–35.]
The will of John Waggoner was dated 12 February 1715. “In the name of god amen I John Waggner of Essex County being verry Sick and wak in body but in perfect Sence & memory Thanks & prais be given to allmighty God for it Dwo bestow these outward blessing wth it hath pleased ye allmighty to bless me with in maner following first I bequeeth my Sole to allmighty God yt [sic] give it hopeing through the merrits of my belessed Saviour Jesus Christ To have forgiveness of my Sinns and to receive a joyfull resurrection at ye Last day and my boddy to be decently buryed at ye discretion of my Executes hereaftermentioned (viz) Item I Give & bequeeth to my beloved wife Rachell Waggner The plantation I now Live one & after hir deceas to goe to my Son Bemjamine Waggner & his heirs for Ever I give to wife three negro’s Doll: Martin & Jugg during hir naturall Life & after hir deceas I Give negro Doll to my Daughter Margarit Allen wife of William Allen to her & her heirs for Ever. I Give ye negro boy Martin to my Son Benjamine & his heirs for Ever. I Give to my Son Saml Wagoner the negro Girle Jugg to him & his heirs for Ever. Item I Give to my Son harbert waggner one Cow being in full his portion. Item I Give to my Son Samll Waggner one bedd & bolster & one Cow being his portion.
