Nathaniel was mentioned in the 31 August 1696 will of his father, James Newbill, proved 19 June 1699. “Item I give my plantacon & Land to my three Sons, Nathaniel, James & George to be equally divided amongst them & their heirs for ever only my Son Nathaniel to have his first choice of the equal Shares but if in case my eldest Son Nathaniel dye without heirs then his Share to descend to my other two Sons James & George equally betwixt them & their heirs for ever but if in case my two Sons Nathaniel & James dye wthout heirs of them my plantacon & Land descend unto my youngest Son George & his heirs for ever. Item I give unto my oldest Son Nathaniel one brindled Heifer being three years old wth two Slits in each ear & halfe ye midle peice taken off”. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 9, page 340.]

The will of Nathaniel Newbill of the Parish of Southfarnham and County of Essex was dated 13 January 1743. Sick. To daughter Mary Covington, daughter Eliza Dunn, daughter Barbery Dunn, daughter Haner Harper, twenty shillings each. To daughter Catherine Burnit, one shilling. Remainder of estate of son Thomas Newbill, who is to be executor. Signed Nathaniel his |/|/| Newbill. Witnesses: Vincent Hudson, Francies his fh mark Hudson, Jah Shepard.
