On 19 March 1830, Thomas Jesse served on a coroner’s jury to inquire as to the cause of death of George Crow. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, pages 83–84.]
On 21 February 1830, Robert Daniel, Chas. G. Layton and Jones C. Clopton were bound in the penalty of $2,000 for Robert Daniel’s administration of the estate of Thomas Jesse Jr. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 22, page 199.]

In 1831, orators and oratrices George M. Hundley and Mary E. his wife, Henry L. Carter admor of Anthony Thornton decd, Hannah B. Montague, Edwin Hundley and Virginia F. his wife, and the said Edwin Hundley as admor of William M. Jesse deceased and John A. Jesse an infant by the said Edwin Hundley his next friend complained to the Chancery Court of Essex County. That John Montague died testate, leaving slaves to daughter Amelia. That Amelia first married one Wm Montague by whom she had your orators and one Lucy B. Montague who married Charles S. Thornton. Then William Montague died and Amelia married Thomas Jesse and they had sons John A. Jesse and Wm M. Jesse and died on about _______ 1830, and shortly thereafter Thomas Jesse died. Wm Jesse died an infant in 1831 Administration of his estate was granted to Edwin Hundley. [Essex County, Virginia, Box Chancery No. 38, item 38-E-1.]
