On 9 February 1702/03, Francis Browne of ye Parish of ffarnam in ye County of Essex executed a deed of gift to his son Daniel Browne of the same. For the ffatherly Love & affection which I have & bare unto my Son Daniell Browne All my Right title Intrest Claime I have in part of a tract and Devident of Land lying & being in ye County & Pish aforesd & being part & parcell of the Land which I now live on which was made over by my ffather ffrancis Browne deced being by Estimacon one hundred fifty Acres (more or less) bounded by the Plantaton of Edwd ffreeman deced, Danll Browne Senior. Signed ffrans Browne. Witnesses: Samll Caotes, Wm Woodford, William Cole. On 10 February 1702/03 ordered to record. [Essex County, Deed Book 10, pages 131–131a.]

On 5 November 1717, Danll Browne witnessed will of Joseph Farguson, and proved the will in court on 19 March 1717/18. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 3, pages 10–11.]

On 20 February 1722, Daniel Brown of the County of Essex sold to Samuell ffarguson and Ann his wife of the same. In consideration of the “Love and Good Will that he hath for his Daughter Ann the wife of the aforesaid Samuell ffarguson” and for 20 shillings, a plantation or parcell formerly known by the name of ffrancis Browns, 100 acres more or less, that ffrancis Brown bequeathed to his wife during her life and then to Daniel Brown and after his Death to Ann the daughter of Daniel, now wife of Samuell ffarguson. On 11 October 1756, Daniel Brown witnessed a deed from Hezekiah Brown and Sally his wife of Amelia County to James Booker of Essex County. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 27, pages 284–286.]

In the name of God Amen I Daniel Brown of St. marks psh in the County of Orang in Virga: being sick & weak but of sound mind & memory thanks be to God for the same knowing this Life to be Transitory & Uncertain do think fit to constitute this my Last will & Testament hereby revoaking & Making Nul all other will or wills whatsoever
Imprimus I recomend my soul to God who gave it beleiving through the meritts of christ Jesus my saviour to Obtain perfect remission of all my sins my body to be Interred at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned and as to what worldly goods it has pleased God to bestow on me my just Debts being first payed I give and bequeath as followeth Vizt:

Item I Give & bequeath unto my Lovg: son Daniel Brown four Shillings Currant Money
Item I Give & bequeath to my Lovg: Daughter Ann Farguson four Shillings Currant Money
Item I Give & bequeath to my Lovg: Daughter Mary Nall four shillings Currant Money
Item I Give & bequeath to move Loving son son [sic] Coleman Brown two hundred Acres of land which I have Capt: Robert Greens bond for the due ackowledgement thereof to him the said Coleman his heirs and Assigns for Ever
Item I Give & bequeath unto my Loving son Thos: Brown four shillings Currant Money
Item I Give & bequeath unto my Lovg: Daughter Elizabeth Brown & her hiers one tract or parcel of Land which I purchased of Martain Nall containing by the said Nall Platt four hundred acres
Item I Lend unto my Loving wife Elizabeth Brown all the rest of my Estate of what nature or Qulity soever during Life and After her Decease & Give & bequeath unto my Loving son William Brown all the rest of my Estate real & Personal Lying & being in what part or place soever to him & his heirs for ever
Lastly I do hereby constitute & Appoint my Loving wife Elizabeth Brown Executrix with my Loving son William Brown Executor of this my Last will & Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this 11th day of March one thousand seven hundred & forth five.

On 26 March 1747, presented in court by William Brown one of the Executors Elizabeth Brown the other Executor Signifying to the Court her willingness of Renunciation in Writing which is Ordered to be Certifyed and proved by the oaths of Thomas Houison & William Lobb. Certificate of probate granted to William Brown.

On 28 May 1747, an inventory and appraisal of the estate of Daniel Brown, made by Marttin Nalle, Richard Nalle, and James Tult(?) was returned to court and ordered to be recorded. [Orange County, Virginia, Will Book 1, pages 108–109.]
