A pleasant surprise party was given Mrs. Katherine Trautwein at the home of her son, Mr. Jacob Trautwein, 814 East Eager street, in honor of her sixty-ninth birthday by her sons, Messrs. Lewis and Jacob Trautwein, and her only daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Diver. The parlor was elaborately decorated with palms and potted plants, and the table and dining-room with chrysanthemums, carnations and roses. Music was furnished by Mr. W. T. Grammar School Association Names New Officers—Society Of Much Benefit To Institution.
Centreville, Md., March 13 (Special). At the regular montly meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association of Centreville Grammar School held last night Robert D. Moore was elected president to succeed Ralph C. Baynard, resigned.
Other new officers were elected as follows: First vice-president, Mrs. Frank Benton; second vice-president, Mrs. Isabel Tucker; third vice-presdent, Mrs. Norman P. Walters; secretary, Mrs. Herbert H. Warren, and treasurer, Mrs. William C. Freestate.
The association was organized about a year ago with Mr. Baynard as president.
It has through the earnest work of the teachers and cooperation of the parents been of great assistance to the school.

On March 19, 1927, the following item appeared in a Centreville newspaper:
One of Centreville’s most active and public spirited men on Wednesday marked the close of his fifth year as local manager of the store conducted by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Comany. He is Robert Darian Moore and during that five year period that he has been a resident of Centreville has been actively and intimately associated with many of the most important civic, fraternal and religious developments of the community. He was born in Baltimore, May 11, 1887 and is a son of Mrs. Katherine Moore and the late Thomas W. Moore, who for many years was a prominent commission merchant of Baltimore. As a lad he attended the public schools of Baltimore and later entered the employ of Hoschild, Kohn & Co. Subsequently he entered the commission business with his father and remained there until he removed to Still Pond, in Kent County, to engage in the mercantile business. On October 22, 1910 he married Miss Jessie B. Bockmiller...On March 15, 1922 Mr. Moore removed to Centreville to take the post of manager of the local A & P store, which had just been opened the preceding October. Fraternally he is an Odd Fellow. Several years ago he undertook to restore St. Tammany Lodge No. 25, Odd Fellows, to its former plane of usefulmess and activity and has been signally successful. Plans For 1930-’31 Program Are Shaped—Rehearsal Slated For Tuesday
Chestertown, Md., Sept. 25—At a meeting of the Kent County Musical Society, held Tuesday night in William Smith Hall, Washington College, plans for the year’s program, submitted by the executive committee, were approved. The first rehearsal will be held Tuesday night.
Mrs. Cleveland S. Smith, of Easton, has been reelected director for the ensuing year, and a membership committee composed of Wilbur R. Hubbard, Mrs. W. Frank Jarrell and Robert D. Moore has been appointed to obtain additional members.
The Washington College officials will cooperate with the society and give credit for choral work to all students who desire to become members of the organization.
Several public concerts are being planning for the fall and winter months.
Dr. Esther M. Dole, president of the society, presided at the meeting.

Red Cross Volunteer Motor Corps Drivers Will Learn Auto Hauling In Dark
Salisbury, Md., Feb. 22 (AP)—Wicomico county women are going to learn how to drive in the dark.
Red Cross Volunteer Motor Corps drivers will be given blackout driving tests at the fairgrounds. The race track will be in total darkness and approved, hooded headlights will be the only car lights as actual blackout traffic conditions are simulated.
Corps Instructor Robert D. Moore said all members had passed examiniations in auto operation and repair. Two of them scored one hundred per cent, in a written examination on maintenance.
