James Gatewood received a bequest in the 20 September 1720 will of his stepfather Joseph Baker. He was to receive all the land and plantation Joseph Baker bought of Thomas Wheeler, as long as James did not debarr his mother from using or occupying the property duirng her life. It was ordered that Thos Edmondson Thomas Wiatt James Jones William Roane Gentlemen or any three of them settle the defendants accounts of administration of the estate of Amy Baker deceased and make report to next court.
